Peacock has released the official trailer for the second season of the streaming true-crime anthology series, "Dr. Death." Leading the cast this time are Venezuelan actor Edgar Ramirez, known for his roles in "The Assassination of Gianni Versace" and "Florida Man," alongside "This Is Us" star Mandy Moore.
Drawing inspiration from real cases of medical malpractice and adapted from the popular Wondery true-crime podcast, Season 2 delves into the chilling story of the "Miracle Man" case. Edgar Ramirez portrays Paolo Macchiarini, a charismatic surgeon and medical researcher celebrated for his groundbreaking surgical procedures. However, Macchiarini's reputation unravels when his career is tainted by allegations of research fraud and manipulative conduct.
Mandy Moore takes on the role of Benita Alexander, an investigative journalist who, while covering Macchiarini's story, stumbles upon a complex web of deception spun by the so-called "good doctor."
Joining Ramirez and Moore in the cast are Jack Davenport, Luke Kirby, Judy Reyes, Ashley Madekwe, Rita Volk, and Gustaf Hammarsten.
Executive produced by showrunner Ashley Michel Hoban, and with Jennifer Morrison, the former "House" actress turned TV director, at the helm for a majority of the episodes, Season 2 of "Dr. Death" promises to deliver riveting suspense when it debuts on December 21st, exclusively on Peacock.
