"Sometimes I Think About Dying" may not be the most feel-good movie of the year, but it does offer a chance to see Daisy Ridley in a different light.

In this dark dramedy, the "Star Wars" star portrays a socially awkward American office worker who spends most of her time in isolation and daydreams about her own death. However, her world takes a turn when a friendly colleague, played by comedian Dave Merheje (known for his role in "Ramy"), reaches out and tries to pull her out of her funk.

The film is based on the 2019 short film of the same name, directed and co-written by Stefanie Abel Horowitz. The short was itself inspired by the play "Killers" by Kevin Armento. The feature-length adaptation is directed by indie filmmaker Rachel Lambert (known for "I Can Feel You Walking" and "In the Radiant City").

In addition to Daisy Ridley and Dave Merheje, the movie also features Parvesh Cheena, Marcia DeBonis, Meg Stalter, and Brittany O'Grady.

"Sometimes I Think About Dying" is set to be released soon. In the meantime, you can check out the official trailer, above.

synopsis:
Lost on the dreary Oregon coast, Fran finds solace in her cubicle, listening to the constant hum of officemates and occasionally daydreaming to pass the time. She is ghosting through life, unable to pop her bubble of isolation, when a friendly new coworker, Robert, persistently tries to connect with her. Though it goes against every fiber of her being, she may have to give this guy a chance. Director Rachel Lambert and team craft beautiful cinema for this delicately told story of love for the socially awkward and emotionally challenged. The film is made all the more human by its lovely cast, most prominent in the penetrating eyes of lead actress/producer, Daisy Ridley, and the caring smile of lead actor, Dave Merheje. SOMETIMES I THINK ABOUT DYING is an unexpected fable on the virtues of living.
