After his successful eight-season stint on the long-running detective comedy "Monk," where he earned numerous Emmys for his depiction of the brilliant yet obsessive-compulsive former San Francisco detective Adrian Monk, Tony Shalhoub is returning to the role that made him a television star.

Check out the official trailer for "Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie," a Peacock original, which heralds Tony Shalhoub's return as Adrian Monk for another intriguing mystery to unravel. This time around, the enigmatic case centers on his beloved stepdaughter Molly (portrayed by Caitlin McGee), who happens to be a journalist preparing for her impending wedding. The storyline is also set in a post-Covid pandemic world, where everyone shares Monk's heightened germophobia concerns.

Traylor Howard, a member of the original "Monk" cast, reprises her role as Natalie Teeger, Monk's former personal assistant. The film also sees the return of Ted Levine as Captain Leland Stottlemeyer, Jason Gray-Stanford as Lieutenant Randall "Randy" Disher, Melora Hardin as Trudy Monk, and Hector Elizondo as Dr. Neven Bell.

Randy Zisk, a longstanding producer and director of "Monk," directed the Peacock movie, which was written by the series creator, Andy Breckman.

"Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie" is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Peacock on December 8th.
