If you've been wondering what Gary Oldman has been up to lately, you might be pleased to know that he's possibly delivering some of his finest work in the Apple original series "Slow Horses." In this acclaimed British spy-thriller series, Oldman, in his signature grumpy fashion, takes on the role of Jackson Lamb, a cantankerous, washed-up British intelligence officer.

In the show, which based on Mick Herron's best-selling "Slough House" spy novel series, Oldman portrays Jackson Lamb, the head of MI5's "Slough House" department. This department serves as a depository for "screw-ups" and "misfits," where sidelined MI5 agents are demoted and given menial tasks. However, there's a catch -- some "Slough House" agents have the opportunity to redeem themselves and restore their tarnished reputations by identifying and working on operations that are on the brink of exposure.

"Slow Horses" is executive produced by British comedian-writer Will Smith, known for his work on shows like "Avenue 5," "Veep," and "The Thick of It."

The series also features Kristin Scott Thomas as Diana Taverner, MI5's head of operations, who may be the only one still willing to place trust in Lamb's ability to manage his team. Jack Lowden, known for his roles in "Dunkirk" and "Fighting with My Family," is part of the main cast as River Cartwright, a disgraced MI5 field agent striving to clear his name and regain a spot in the main department.

Sope Dirisu, star of "Gangs of London," joins the cast in Season 3 as Sean Donovan, the former head of security at the British embassy who has gone rogue.

"Slow Horses" is set to return with Season 3 premiering on November 29th, exclusively on Apple TV Plus. Watch the trailer, above.
