She made a big impact as one of the standout characters in Marvel's "Hawkeye" series, and now she's set to star in her very own miniseries. Alaqua Cox returns as the title character in the upcoming MCU miniseries "Echo," and the first official trailer has been released.

Echo (also known as Maya Lopez) is a deaf Native American Choctaw assassin who first appeared in Marvel's "Hawkeye" series. In the upcoming standalone series "Echo," she takes center stage as the main protagonist.

The character Echo is a complex figure in the Marvel universe. She is a former commander of the Tracksuit Mafia who was also an enforcer for Wilson Fisk (aka Kingpin). Raised as Wilson Fisk's adopted niece, Echo discovers the truth about her father's death, which was orchestrated by her "uncle." This revelation sets her on a path of vengeance, and the series will explore her emotional conflict and quest for justice.

Vincent D'Onofrio reprises his role as Wilson Fisk, once again portraying the iconic Kingpin character. D'Onofrio previously played Kingpin in the Netflix/Marvel series "Daredevil," which is not related to this new interpretation of the Wilson Fisk character.

"Echo" also features a strong supporting cast of Native actors, including Chaske Spencer, Graham Greene, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Zahn McClarnon, and Cody Lightning.

The miniseries consists of five episodes and will be available to stream in its entirety on Disney Plus starting on January 10th. It will also be available on Hulu simultaneously until April 9th. Watch the official trailer above.
