"The Planet of the Apes" saga marches on with this new chapter, painting a world where apes reign supreme, while humans have regressed into a wild, primitive state.

Check out the first official teaser trailer for "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes," the fourth installment in the rebooted "Planet of the Apes" franchise, following 2017's "War for the Planet of the Apes."

"Kingdom" marks director Wes Ball's first film since working on the popular "Maze Runner" film trilogy. Ball takes over the director's chair from filmmaker Matt Reeves (The Batman), who directed the previous two "Planet of the Apes" films, "War" and "Dawn." Ball is set to bring his own vision to the franchise, which originally began with the 1968 science-fiction film depicting a world ruled by apes. This new installment appears to return to the franchise's roots.

Owen Teague (known for "IT Chapter 1 and 2" and recently featured in the Netflix thriller "Reptile") stars as Noa, a young chimpanzee born generations after Caesar's time. In this world, where apes have established an empire and humans are relegated to servitude and forced labor, Noa takes care of Nova, a mute human girl who once knew Caesar. Nova is portrayed by English actress Freya Allan, known for her role as Princess Cirilla in the Netflix series "The Witcher."

The cast also includes Peter Macon, Eka Darville, Kevin Durand, Neil Sandilands, Dichen Lachman, and William H. Macy.

"Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" is set to hit theaters on Memorial Day, May 24, 2024. Prepare for a return to the enthralling world of apes and humans in this latest installment of the franchise.
