The official full-length trailer has been released for the upcoming Spanish-language drama, "I Don't Expect Anyone to Believe Me." The Netflix original film is based on the biographical novel by Mexican author Juan Pablo Villalobos and it stars Mexican actor Dario Yazbek Bernal, from the Spanish-language Netflix series "The House of Flowers."

The film tells the tale of a young Villalobos (Dario Yazbek Bernal) who sets out on a journey to Barcelona with dreams of pursuing a doctorate in literature. However, a chance encounter with the criminal underworld dramatically alters the trajectory of his life. This unexpected turn of events inspires him to translate his experiences into words, leading to the creation of a novel that reflects the surreal and puzzling incidents he has lived through.

"I Don't Expect Anyone to Believe Me" is helmed by acclaimed Mexican filmmaker Fernando Frias de la Parra, known for directing episodes of TV shows like "Our Flag Means Death" and "Los Espookys." However, it was his 2020 film debut, the critically acclaimed Spanish-language Netflix drama "I'm No Longer Here," that propelled him into the spotlight. The film explored the challenges faced by a rural Mexican raver who, following a confrontation with street violence in his homeland, is compelled to flee to the United States.
