There's quite a buzz surrounding Lily Gladstone's performance in Martin Scorsese's upcoming epic, "Killers of the Flower Moon." There's a chance she could make history as the first Native American actress to receive an Oscar nomination, following in the footsteps of trailblazers like Graham Greene and Wes Studi.

If you're eager to find out why there's so much buzz, consider checking out this new behind-the-scenes featurette. It shines a spotlight on actress Lily Gladstone and her portrayal of Mollie Kyle, an Osage Nation woman who witnesses the brutal murder of her family and community due to racism, hatred, and jealousy. It was the result that stemmed from the sudden and unexpected wealth the Osage Nation gained from striking oil.

Based on David Grann's highly acclaimed bestselling historical book of the same name, the film unravels the horrifying events surrounding the Osage people's murders in Osage County, Oklahoma, during the early 1920s. Right at the core of this horrific massacre are Ernest Burkhart and Mollie Kyle (played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone), two people with drastically different backgrounds who find themselves caught up in one of America's most sinister chapters of history.

With an ensemble cast featuring Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Brendan Fraser, John Lithgow, and others, "Killers of the Flower Moon" is set to hit theaters on October 20th, distributed by Apple Studios. After its theatrical release, the film will be exclusively available for streaming on Apple TV Plus later in the year.
