Check out the official trailer for "Miranda's Victim," an upcoming legal drama based on true events from 1963 that delves into the origins of the Miranda warning.

Starring Abigail Breslin, Ryan Phillippe, Luke Wilson, and Enrique Murciano, the movie dramatizes the legal argument surrounding the validity of Miranda rights. The story revolves around the case of a young woman who was kidnapped and sexually assaulted in the 1960s. Her assailant is apprehended and confesses to the crime, leading to his imprisonment. However, because he was not read his "Miranda warning," informing him of his rights against self-incrimination, there are grounds for an improper arrest and conviction.

Abigail Breslin portrays the young victim, while Luke Wilson plays the city attorney and Ryan Phillippe takes on the role of the criminal defense attorney trying to prove an unjust confession, despite overwhelming evidence pointing to his client's guilt (played by Enrique Murciano).

Directed by Michelle Danner and featuring a star-studded supporting cast including Emily VanCamp, Mireille Enos, Taryn Manning, Kyle MacLachlan, Andy Garcia, and Donald Sutherland, "Miranda's Victim" is set to be released in theaters and on VOD on October 6th.
