Brie Larson, famous for her portrayal of Captain Marvel in the Marvel universe, is making quite a leap from the superhero world to the role of a 1950s cooking show host in her latest project. She'll be showcasing a different set of talents -- ones that revolve around culinary skills and performing in front of a live-recording studio.

Check out the official full-length trailer for the upcoming Apple original series "Lessons in Chemistry," featuring Brie Larson in the lead role as a 1950s research scientist who unexpectedly becomes the star of a popular TV cooking show.

The series is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Bonnie Garmus. In addition to Larson, the show boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Lewis Pullman, Aja Naomi King, Stephanie Koenig, Patrick Walker, Thomas Mann, Kevin Sussman, and Beau Bridges.

Oscar-nominated screenwriter Susannah Grant (Erin Brockovich) is the creator and executive producer of "Lessons in Chemistry." Grant previously co-created and executive produced the Emmy-nominated Netflix miniseries "Unbelievable."

The new series is produced in collaboration with Brie Larson and Jason Bateman's production company, Aggregate Films, known for successful shows like Netflix's "Ozark" and HBO's "The Outsider."

"Lessons in Chemistry" is set to premiere exclusively on Apple TV Plus starting on October 13th. Watch the official trailer, above.
