Imagine a blend of the time-traveling antics from "Back to the Future" and the spine-tingling scares of "Halloween" -- that's precisely the intriguing concept behind the upcoming horror-comedy film, "Totally Killer," produced by Blumhouse and set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in October.

In this Amazon original film, Kiernan Shipka, star of Netflix's "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina," plays Jamie, a 17-year-old who finds herself face-to-face with the infamous masked psychopath dubbed the "Sweet Sixteen Killer." However, when Jamie makes a desperate bid to escape, she unexpectedly travels back in time -- 35 years into the past, precisely when the serial killer claimed his initial three victims. Now, Jamie must team up with her teenage mother to thwart the killer before he claims his first victims.

The role of Jamie's mother, Pam, is played by Julie Bowen, from "Modern Family," while Olivia Holt from Marvel's "Runaways" takes on the role of the teenage Pam from the 1980s. The cast also includes Charlie Gillespie, Liana Liberato, Lochlyn Munro, and Randall Park.

"Totally Killer" is produced by the horror maestro Jason Blum and directed by Nahnatchka Khan, the creator of the hit sitcom "Fresh Off the Boat" and the director of the acclaimed Netflix romantic comedy "Always Be My Maybe."

"Totally Killer" is debuting on October 6th, exclusively on Prime Video. Watch the official red band trailer, above.
