We are certainly living in interesting times. This summer, alone, we have witnessed a number of congressional hearings and news interviews dedicated to probing the existence of UFOs -- or more precisely, UAPs: Unidentified Aerial Phenomena. And so, given the heightened curiosity surrounding this subject, it seems Netflix is aiming to seize this opportunity by releasing a new four-part documentary series that delves into real-life accounts of encounters with extraterrestrial phenomena.

Executive produced by Amblin Television, Emmy-winning Boardwalk Pictures, Vice Studios, and directed by Yon Motskin (known for "Generation Hustle"), "Encounters" explores four remarkable true stories of interactions with otherworldly phenomena.

Each episode, presented with cinematic flair and thorough research, recounts a single tale: mysterious lights in the sky above a small Texas town; submersible space crafts haunting a coastal village in Wales; an alien encounter in a Zimbabwean schoolyard; reports of non-human intelligence interfering with a nuclear power plant in Japan. These stories are told from the perspective of those who experienced them firsthand, right in the locations where the sightings occurred.

The docuseries also incorporates insights from cutting-edge scientists and military personnel. Beyond the scientific exploration, "Encounters" emphasizes the profound human impact of these experiences on individuals, families, and communities.

"Encounters" is set to premiere on September 27th, exclusively on Netflix. You can catch a glimpse of the newly-released trailer above.

synopsis:
For decades, we've relegated alien encounters to the realm of conspiracy, dismissing those who've seen the unexplainable. Now congressional hearings on UFOs bringing revelations from whistleblowers about clandestine Pentagon programs and major journalistic institutions confirm that... we are not alone.
