In the upcoming motivational sports drama "NYAD," four-time Academy Award nominee Annette Bening takes on the role of real-life long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad. Netflix has released the official trailer for the film, which also stars two-time Academy Award winner Jodie Foster as Bonnie Stoll, Nyad's close friend and swimming coach.

"NYAD" tells the remarkable true story of Diana Nyad, a long-distance swimmer and sports journalist who, at the age of 60, embarked on an extraordinary challenge: a 110-mile marathon swim from Cuba to Florida through shark-infested waters. But before she could attempt this incredible feat, she needed to convince her best friend, Bonnie Stoll, to coach her and assemble a team to assist her in the grueling swim.

The film marks the narrative directorial debut of Academy Award-winning documentary filmmakers Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, known for their work on "Free Solo" and other acclaimed documentaries like "The Rescue" and "Meru."

"NYAD" is set to premiere in select theaters in October before becoming available exclusively on Netflix on November 3rd.

Determined to become the first person to finish the swim without a shark cage, Diana goes on a thrilling, four-year journey with her best friend and coach Bonnie Stoll (two-time Academy Award winner Jodie Foster) and a dedicated sailing team.
