After a highly publicized meltdown, a hotheaded professional basketball player finds himself on a path to redemption. He embarks on a comeback journey by returning to his hometown, where he takes on the job of coaching his old high school basketball team in this feel-good underdog sports comedy that stars Jordan Johnson-Hinds (from "Nurses" and "Suits"), comedian Andrew Dice Clay, and "Reservation Dogs" actress Sarah Podemski.

Check out the official trailer for "Warrior Strong," the new Canadian basketball comedy about a struggling high school basketball team that experiences a dramatic turnaround. The turning point occurs when two coaches, each contending with their own anger management issues, clash in an effort to bring about a change in the team's performance.

In the film, Andrew Dice Clay takes on the role of the high school basketball coach who suffers a sudden medical incident, paving the way for the introduction of a new assistant coach position. Enter, Bilal Irving, a former high school basketball superstar turned professional player (played by Jordan Johnson-Hinds), who is seeking a chance at a comeback. The thing is, Bilal isn't particularly keen to become a high school coach or return to his alma mater. However, this serves as his only route to rejoin the league. The two coaches must set aside their differences and work together to turn the team around. Along this journey, Bilal comes to realize that there are things of greater importance than just his sports career.

Canadian Indigenous actress Sarah Podemski, currently featured in the FX comedy series "Reservation Dogs" and the SYFY comedy series "Resident Alien," assumes the role of the school's principal in the film, which is directed by Canadian filmmaker Shane Belcourt (Red Rover).

"Warrior Strong" is scheduled to open in limited theatrical release, and it will also be available for purchase and rental beginning on September 29th. Watch the official trailer, above.
