If we've learned anything from horror films, it's that evil has a knack for resurfacing when we least expect it. Keeping that in mind, behold! That sinister, creepy-looking nun makes her chilling return in the latest installment of "The Conjuring" universe.

Check out the first official trailer for "The Nun II," the new upcoming sequel to the 2018 supernatural horror film. This time, the film takes place in 1956 France, four years after the events of the initial installment, and Taissa Farmiga returns to star as Sister Irene.

The cast also includes Anna Popplewell (from "The Chronicles of Narnia" films) and Storm Reid (from "Missing" and "The Last of Us"), while character actress Bonnie Aarons returns to reprise her role as the malevolent entity known as Valak, also known simply as the Nun.

Directed by Michael Chaves, who previously helmed the horror films "The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It" and "The Curse of La Llorona," the film explores the gripping and terrifying encounters that Sister Irene must navigate as she confronts this demonic nun spirit once more.

"The Nun II" is poised to send chills racing down spines as it unleashes its unholy terror upon theaters on September 8th. Be sure to watch the hair-raising trailer above.
