Amazon Studios has released the official trailer for "Red, White & Royal Blue," the upcoming film adaptation of Casey McQuiston's LGBTQ romance novel of the same name about a budding gay romance that transcends borders.

The film stars Taylor Zakhar Perez (from "The Kissing Booth 2") as Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of the United States' first female president (played by Uma Thurman) who gets into a media crisis during his mother's re-election campaign. In order to mend the situation, Alex agrees to pretend to be friends with Britain's Prince Henry (played by Nicholas Galitzine; from "Purple Hearts"). However, Alex and Prince Henry soon discover that they have more in common than they know, resulting in a budding romance.

The Amazon original film is directed by playwright Matthew Lopez, known for his acclaimed play "The Inheritance," making his feature directorial debut.

The cast also includes Sarah Shahi, Clifton Collins Jr., Stephen Fry, Rachel Hilson, Ellie Bamber, Aneesh Sheth, and Polo Morin.

The film is produced by the producing duo of Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, who have made their mark in both film and television, including notable projects like "My Policeman," "Unpregnant," and "Moonshot," as well as popular shows like the CW Arrowverse, "You," "Riverdale," and "The Flight Attendant."

"Red, White & Royal Blue" is set to premiere on Prime Video beginning on August 11th. Watch the trailer above.
