Netflix has unveiled an official logo teaser for the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of the beloved Nickelodeon animated series "Avatar: The Last Airbender."

The upcoming series aims to reimagine the epic adventure of Aang and his friends in a live-action format, with a goal to capture the spirit of the original animated series that garnered immense popularity during its original run from 2005 to 2008.

Created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the animated show blended Asian mysticism with fantasy elements and is considered one of the greatest animated television series of all time. It received critical acclaim and numerous accolades, including a Primetime Emmy Award, a Kids' Choice Award, and a Peabody Award.

The new live-action Netflix adaptation, executive produced by showrunner Albert Kim, known for his work on "Sleepy Hollow" and "Nikita," aims to honor the beloved world and characters of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" while offering a fresh take on the story.

The cast of the series features a predominantly Asian and South Asian-American ensemble, including Gordon Cormier as Avatar Aang, Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko, Kiawentiio as Katara, and Ian Ousley as Sokka. During the TUDUM fan event in Brazil, the cast presented a set of promotional stills and the logo teaser, generating excitement among the audience.

"Avatar: The Last Airbender" is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Netflix in 2024.

The series will be an authentic adaptation of the award-winning and beloved Nickelodeon animated series AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER reimagined as a live-action adventure. Albert Kim (Sleepy Hollow, Nikita) serves as showrunner, executive producer, and writer. Alongside Kim, Rideback’s Dan Lin (The Lego Movie, Aladdin) and Lindsey Liberatore (Walker) serve as executive producers as well as Michael Goi (Swamp Thing, American Horror Story). Goi, Roseanne Liang (also a co-executive producer), Jabbar Raisani and Jet Wilkinson direct.
