As we continue to witness the resurgence of horror films, one of the most highly anticipated movies of the summer is "The Boogeyman," based on a Stephen King short story that centers on a family haunted by a malevolent entity. To whet our appetites, a 30-second commercial has been released, giving us a glimpse of what's in store.

Directed by Rob Savage, who helmed the found footage thrillers "Host" and "Dashcam," "The Boogeyman" stars Sophie Thatcher, known for her role in the hit Showtime series "Yellowjackets," as high school student named Sadie Harper. She's joined by Chris Messina, who starred in the movie "Air," and Vivian Lyra Blair, best known for her role in "Obi-Wan Kenobi."

The story follows Sadie and her younger sister, Sawyer, who are struggling with the death of their mother and receiving little support from their father, Will, a therapist dealing with his own grief. When a patient turns up at their door seeking help, he inadvertently leaves behind a malevolent supernatural entity that feeds off the suffering of its victims and preys on families.

Produced by "Stranger Things" producer-director Shawn Levy, "The Boogeyman" promises to be a bone-chilling experience. It's set to hit theaters on June 2nd.
