Gerard Butler finds himself stuck in hostile territory in the new official trailer for the forthcoming military thriller "Kandahar."
Butler plays a covert CIA operative who, together with his Afghan translator (Navid Negahban, of Aladdin), must fight their way to a Kandahar extraction point after becoming caught in hostile Afghan territory.
The action film is directed by stuntman-turned-filmmaker Ric Roman Waugh who previously worked with Butler on the action sequel "Angel Has Fallen" and the disaster thriller "Greenland."
"Vikings" actor Travis Fimmel also co-stars in the film, playing a special field agent who is leading the extraction operation.
"Kandahar" is due to open in theaters on May 26th. Watch the brand-new trailer, above.
synopsis:
Tom Harris (Gerard Butler), an undercover CIA operative, is stuck deep in hostile territory in Afghanistan. After his mission is exposed, he must fight his way out, alongside his Afghan translator, to an extraction point in Kandahar, all whilst avoiding elite enemy forces and foreign spies tasked with hunting them down.
