Netflix has released the official teaser trailer for Season 2 of "Sweet Tooth," the post-apocalyptic fantasy series set in the aftermath of a mysterious global viral pandemic that has produced a rising death toll and possibly a new generation of children born as human-animal hybrids.

Based on the DC/Vertigo comic book of the same name by Jeff Lemire, the Netflix drama stars Christian Convery (from "Cocaine Bear") as Gus, a young hybrid deer-boy who has befriended a wandering loner and ex-football star named Tommy "Big Man" Jepperd (played by Game of Thrones' Nonso Anozie).

In the first season, we saw Gus and Big Man as they become unlikely friends while traveling across a dangerous apocalyptic America in the search for Gus's long lost mother. At the end of Season 2, Gus and Big Man have been separated. Gus, along with other young hybrids like himself, has been captured by the ruthless General Abbot (played by Neil Sandilands), who is the leader of the "Last Men" army. They hunt down hybrids because hybrids carry certain properties that help fight the virus.

"My Pubba taught me," says Gus in the new trailer. He's referring to his late human father (played by comedian Will Forte, in flashback scenes from the first season). "If I saw a human, I should hide. But I am done hiding!"

"Sweet Tooth" is executive produced by Susan Downey and Robert Downey Jr., alongside filmmaker Jim Mickle (Hap and Leonard, Cold in July, Stake Land) who also has directed and written episodes in the series.

Costarring Adeel Akhtar, Dania Ramirez, and Stefania LaVie Owen, with James Brolin serving as the narrator, "Sweet Tooth: Season 2" is set to premiere on April 27th, only on Netflix.
