Amazon has released the official trailer for the fifth and final season of the Emmy Award-winning series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel."

Starring Emmy-winners Rachel Brosnahan and Alex Borstein, the series tells the story of Miriam "Midge" Maisel (Bronahan) and her spectacular ascent to fame as a Jewish stand-up comic in 1960s New York. Her humble beginnings included being a mother and a disgruntled housewife, which have formed the basis of her stand-up comedy. Borstein plays Midge's trusty and longtime manager Susie Myerson.

The series, itself, has been inspired by the lives of several real-life female comedians at the time, including Joan Rivers, Lotus Weinstock, Moms Mabley, Phyllis Diller, and others.

Created, written, and directed by Amy Sherman-Palladino (Gilmore Girls), who works alongside her husband, television producer-director Daniel Palladino, "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" will be coming to a close after five seasons. Since premiering in 2017 as one of Amazon's longest-running original comedy shows, "Maisel" has earned 20 Emmy wins, and numerous accolades from critics and fans alike.

Co-starring Tony Shalhoub, Marin Hinkle, and Michael Zegen, "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel: Season 5 (final season)" is set to premiere on April 14th, only on Prime Video.

synopsis:
In 1958 New York, Midge Maisel's life is on track- husband, kids, and elegant Yom Kippur dinners in their Upper West Side apartment. But when her life takes a surprise turn, she has to quickly decide what else she's good at -- and going from housewife to stand-up comic is a wild choice to everyone but her.
