A young boy befriends an adorable mythical creature in the official trailer for Netflix's new, forthcoming family-friendly fantasy adventure film "Chupa," which is produced by Chris Columbus and directed by Mexican filmmaker Jonas Cuaron (Desierto).

Starring Demian Bichir, Evan Whitten, Ashley Ciarra, Nicolas Verdugo, and Christian Slater, the Netflix original film centers on a family who visits Mexico, only to have their holiday ruined when a chupacabra, the mythical dog-like winged animal, is discovered living on their grandfather's ranch.

"Chupa" is slated to premiere on Netflix on April 7th. Watch the trailer, above.

synopsis:
While visiting his family in Mexico, teenage Alex gains an unlikely companion when he discovers a young chupacabra hiding in his grandpa's shed. In order to save the mythical creature, Alex and his cousins must embark on the adventure of a lifetime.
