Owen Wilson plays a Bob Ross-like art instructor in the new official trailer for "Paint," the quirky comedy that also stars Michaela Watkins, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ciara Renee, and Stephen Root.

Certainly inspired by the image of famed painting instructor Bob Ross, the film casts Owen Wilson as Carl Nargle, a well-known local artist from Vermont who is also the host of a well-liked public access painting tutorial show. While his life a bit of a sea breeze, things take a turn when he discovers a new, younger rival artist (played here by Broadway actress Ciara Renee) has taken to the airwaves with her own popular painting show. Now the fight to stay relevant is on.

Written and directed by comedy director Brit McAdams (Katt Williams: American Hustle, Tosh.0), "Paint" is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 7th. Watch the full trailer, above.
