Go behind the scenes of "Willow," the new, upcoming Disney Plus original series that serves as a long-awaited sequel to the 1988 fantasy-adventure film of the same name that stars Warwick Davis as a dwarf farmer-turned-sorcerer named Willow Ufgood.
The original film was produced by George Lucas and directed by Ron Howard, and ended up becoming a cult classic despite making middling, yet respectable box office numbers.
Set 30 years after the events of the original film, Warwick Davis returns as Willow who is called back to action for another magical quest, which requires his expertise in sorcery. Willow teams up with a group of young valiant warriors, including Kit (Mare of Easttown's Ruby Cruz), the fearless princess, and the daughter of Queen Sorsha (again played by Joanne Whalley, who also returns).
In addition to Davis, Cruz, and Whalley, the cast includes Erin Kellyman (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Ellie Bamber (The Serpent), Tony Revolori (Spider-Man: Homecoming), Amer Chadha-Patel (The Third Day), and Dempsey Bryk. Comedian Kevin Pollak is also back as the mini-sized "Brownie" ally named Rool.
Created and executive produced by Jonathan Kasdan (Solo: A Star Wars Story), "Willow" is set to premiere on November 30, exclusively on Disney Plus.
synopsis:
The story began when an aspiring sorcerer, played by Warwick Davis, is whisked away on a journey to protect an infant empress Elora Danan and vanquish the evil Queen Bavmorda from their world of Andowyne. Now, the story continues with Davis reprising his titular role, as he leads an unlikely crew of heroes on a quest to protect Andowyne from an even larger foe than they had imagined possible.
