Executive produced and directed by visionary filmmaker Tim Burton, the upcoming Netflix original series is based on the characters from Charles Addams' classic cartoon "The Addams Family," which itself was adapted into two popular 90s gothic comedies that starred a young Christina Ricci as Wednesday Addams.
In this new small-screen version, Jenna Ortega tackles the role of Wednesday Addams, a deeply misanthropic teenager who is sent to study at Nevermore Academy, a private magical school where her parents first met and fell in love ages ago.
Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzman costar in the series as Wednesday's parents, Morticia and Gomez Addams.
Executive produced by "Smallville" showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, "The Addams Family" will be coming sometime in the fall on Netflix.
