The official trailer has been released for "Vengeance," the darkly comic murder mystery from writer, director, and star B.J. Novak (from "The Office" and "Inglourious Basterds").

Novak plays Ben, a New York journalist who travels down to West Texas for the funeral of a woman he was dating at the time. She, apparently, died under suspicious circumstances, which has led some of her family members to believe she had been murdered. While believing there might be a good story here, Ben has decided to stay for a while to investigate and conduct interviews for a potential new true-crime podcast. He soon finds himself out of his element as Texas is a world away from New York.

Novak makes his feature directorial debut. It also stars Ashton Kutcher, Boyd Holbrook, J. Smith-Cameron, Dove Cameron, Lio Tipton, Isabella Amara, and Issa Rae.

"Vengeance" is set to open in theaters on July 29th.
