Sonic the Hedgehog 2 — Official Final Trailer

The official final trailer has been released for "Sonic the Hedgehog 2," starring comic superstar Jim Carrey, James Marsden, and Ben Schwartz as the voice of the titular blue hedgehog with blazing speed.

The film is the sequel to 2020's surprise hit action-adventure comedy based on the Sega video game franchise. Idris Elba has been added to the cast as the voice of Sonic's rival, Knuckles the Echidna, and "Sonic" voice actress Colleen O'Shaughnessey is also added as the voice of Miles "Tails" Prower.

Carrey is also back as Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, the mad scientist who is determined to destroy Sonic by all means necessary.

Animator/visual effects artist-turned-filmmaker Jeff Fowler, who made his live-action directorial debut with "Sonic the Hedgehog," returns to director's chair for this sequel, which co-stars Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, and Shemar Moore.

"Sonic the Hedgehog 2" sprints into theaters on April 8th.

synopsis:
The world's favorite blue hedgehog is back for a next-level adventure in SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2. After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
