The acclaimed Saxon-Viking medieval series "The Last Kingdom" is coming to a close with its fifth season, which is set to premiere on Netflix next month. And here's the official trailer for the show's final season.

Based on Bernard Cornwell's best-selling "Saxon Stories" book series, the medieval drama stars Alexander Dreymon as Uhtred of Bebbanburg, the 9th-century Viking warrior who is the son of a Saxon nobleman, but was kidnapped and raised by Viking Danes.

The series followed Uhtred as he fought to reclaim his birthright while his allegiance to the late King Alfred of Wessex was constantly tested. This time around, it seems Uhtred has returned to protect his bloodline from his former Viking ally Brida (played here by Emily Cox).

Also, co-starring Millie Brady, Timothy Innes, Mark Rowley, Ewan Mitchell, James Northcote, and Eliza Butterworth, "The Last Kingdom: Season 5" (the final season) is set to premiere on Netflix beginning March 9th.

synopsis:
As Alfred the Great defends his kingdom from Norse invaders, Uhtred -- born a Saxon but raised by Vikings -- seeks to claim his ancestral birthright.
