Apple TV has released a new official trailer for the critically acclaimed, stylish black-and-white Shakespearean film "The Tragedy of Macbeth," starring Oscar-winner Denzel Washington as Lord Macbeth and Oscar-winner Frances McDormand as Lady Macbeth.

The film, which is now playing in theaters, has been generating a lot of Oscar buzz -- particularly for Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand's leading performances.

The film is inspired by William Shakespeare's classic tragedy about a politically-driven Scottish general who believes he will become the King of Scotland. This is a rare solo directorial effort from Joel Coen who, for the past 35 years, has worked alongside his brother Ethan Coen who recently took a sabbatical from filmmaking.

Five-time Oscar-nominated cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel (Inside Llewyn Davis, Amelie) is working behind the camera, delivering crisp black-and-white visuals.

Among those who are in the supporting cast are Corey Hawkins, Brendan Gleeson, Harry Melling, Moses Ingram, Ralph Ineson, and Kathryn Hunter.

"The Tragedy of Macbeth" is now playing in theaters but will start streaming exclusively on Apple TV Plus next week, beginning on January 14th.
