Film distributor A24 is planning a surprise re-release for the critically acclaimed medieval fantasy drama "The Green Knight," which will be returning to theaters this Friday for Oscar considerations.
Written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker David Lowery (Ain't Them Bodies Saints, The Old Man & the Gun), the visually compelling film is inspired by the Arthurian legend, and it stars Dev Patel as Sir Gawain, the nephew of King Arthur who sets off on a fantastical journey to battle against the mystical Green Knight.
The film, which earned strong reviews from critics after being released earlier this year back in July, also stars Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sarita Choudhury, Sean Harris, and Ralph Ineson.
"The Green Knight" is currently available on VOD and Blu-ray, but will be back in theaters nationwide this weekend beginning on December 10th.
