MacGruber is back! And he's ready to answer Uncle Sam's call one more time.

Check out the first official trailer for NBC Peacock's upcoming "MacGruber" streaming series, which is serving as the long-awaited sequel to the cult 2010 action-comedy.

"MacGruber" star/creator Will Forte is joined by Kristen Wiig and Ryan Phillippe in this new action-comedy series for Peacock, which is set a decade after the events of the original SNL MacGyver parody movie.

It seems MacGruber (Forte) has been rotting away in prison for almost ten years until he gets called back into action for a secret government-operated suicide mission. MacGruber finds himself reteaming with his loyal partner and former love interest Vicki St. Elmo (Wiig). They also reunite with Lieutenant Dixon Piper (Phillippe) for the mission.

The cast of the series also includes Sam Elliott, Laurence Fishburne, Billy Zane, Joseph Lee Anderson, and Timothy V. Murphy.

Comedian Jorma Taccone, who helmed the 2010 film, is also back as director, writer, and executive producer, working alongside producers-writers Will Forte and John Solomon.

"MacGruber: the Series" is set to premiere December 16th, exclusively on the NBC Universal-owned streaming service Peacock.

synopsis:
After rotting in prison for over a decade, America's ultimate hero and uber patriot MacGruber is finally released. His mission: to take down a mysterious villain from his past -- Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth. With the entire world in the crosshairs, MacGruber must reassemble his old team, Vicki St. Elmo and Dixon Piper, in order to defeat the forces of evil.
