Check out the new official full-length trailer for "Peacemaker," the new darkly comic vigilante action series which serves as a spin-off of James Gunn's recent DC supervillain sequel/reboot "The Suicide Squad."

John Cena is back as the Peacemaker, a chrome helmet-wearing and overly patriotic mercenary who finds himself getting his own squad of anti-heroes, which includes the comic book character Adrian Chase aka the Vigilante (played by Freddie Stroma).

The series, which is also created, written, and directed by James Gunn, also stars Orange Is the New Black's Danielle Brooks and The Underground Railroad's Chukwudi Iwuji -- as well as Steve Agee and Jennifer Holland who are once again playing tech agents John Economos and Emilia Harcourt. Veteran character actor Robert Patrick (Terminator 2) will also be guest appearing as Peacemaker's father.

The HBO Max spin-off will be exploring the origins of the Peacemaker character, and presumably, will show how he landed himself at the mercy of the heartless national security honcho Amanda Waller.

Executive produced by Peter Safran and Matt Miller with James Gunn writing and directing nearly the entire first season, "Peacemaker" is scheduled to premiere on January 13, exclusively on HBO MAX.
