Check out a new official "Deja Vu" promo for "The Matrix Resurrections," the eagerly-anticipated fourth film in "The Matrix" franchise that stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss.

It seems a "glitch in the Matrix" has initiated a new retelling of this new cyberpunk-fused dystopian fable where people are imprisoned in a virtual reality world by an artificial intelligence program.

Reeves and Moss return as Neo and Trinity in this highly secretive "Matrix" sequel-slash-reboot from "Matrix" co-creator Lana Wachowski who directs from a script that she co-wrote with "Cloud Atlas" author David Mitchell and "The Lazarus Project" author Aleksander Hemon -- based on characters created by The Wachowskis.

The cast also includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Candyman, Aquaman), Jessica Henwick (Game of Thrones), and Jonathan Groff (Mindhunter) with Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Christina Ricci, Telma Hopkins, Erendira Ibarra, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Brian J. Smith, and Jada Pinkett Smith.

"The Matrix Resurrections" is due to be released simultaneously in theaters and on the streaming service HBO MAX on December 22nd.
