Check out a new official commercial for "The Tragedy of Macbeth," the new Shakespearean drama from filmmaker Joel Coen, which stars Oscar-winner Denzel Washington as Lord Macbeth and Oscar-winner Frances McDormand as Lady Macbeth.

Stylishly shot in black and white by five-time Oscar-nominated cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel (Inside Llewyn Davis, Amelie), the film is inspired by William Shakespeare's classic tragedy about a politically-driven Scottish general who believes he will become the King of Scotland.

This is a rare solo directorial effort from Joel Coen who, for the past 35 years, has worked alongside his brother Ethan Coen. But it seems Ethan has taken a sabbatical from filmmaking for the time being.

Co-starring Corey Hawkins, Brendan Gleeson, Harry Melling, Moses Ingram, and Ralph Ineson, "The Tragedy of Macbeth" is expected to open in U.S. theaters on December 25th before streaming exclusively on Apple TV Plus on January 14th.
