Check out an official featurette for "The Shrink Next Door," the new Apple original mini-series that stars Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd.

Inspired by the stranger-than-fiction true story, the eight-episode dark comedy takes place in the 1980s and centers on a manipulative New York therapist (Rudd) who violates his professional code of ethics by exploiting his financially successful client and implanting himself into his personal life. The patient is played by Ferrell. Kathryn Hahn plays Ferrell's sister, while Casey Wilson plays Rudd's wife.

The limited series, which is written and executive produced by Emmy-winning producer-writer Georgia Pritchett (Succession, Veep), is based on the first season of Wondery's true-crime podcast by Joe Nocera, which told the true story of psychiatrist Isaac Herschkopf.

Comedian/filmmaker Michael Showalter (The Big Sick, The Eyes of Tammy Faye) directed the pilot episode.

"The Shrink Next Door" premieres this Friday, November 12th exclusively on the streaming platform, Apple TV Plus.
