Check out a couple of first-look clips from Season 2 of "The Witcher," Netflix's hit medieval fantasy series that stars Henry Cavill as fabled monster slayer Geralt of Rivia.
Based on the best-selling fantasy novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, which is also the basis of a popular video game franchise, the Netflix original series also stars Freya Allan as an innocent princess named Ciri who possesses magical powers, yet hasn't mastered them yet.
Season 2 finds monster slayer-for-hire Geralt of Rivia (Cavill) as he reluctantly takes Ciri under his wing despite his misanthropic disposition. One of the above clips features our first look at "Game of Thrones" actor Kristofer Hivju as Geralt's old friend, Nivellen, who appears to be a warthog-looking mythical humanoid creature.
"The Witcher: Season 2" is premiering on December 17th on Netflix. And also a spinoff/prequel mini-series called "The Witcher: Blood Origin" is now in production and will premiere sometime next year.
