Netflix has released an official sneak peek clip from "Don't Look Up," Adam McKay's new political satire/disaster film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence.

While lampooning the incompetence of the U.S. government, the Netflix original film asks the question, How would the government react to the discovery of a doomsday comet that is about to hit the planet?

We see Meryl Streep playing the President of the United States in the above clip with DiCaprio and Lawrence as a pair of low-level astronomers who believe an impending collision with an Earth-bound comet is nearly 100 percent certainty.

Jonah Hill costars as the President's idiot chief of staff. The cast also includes Rob Morgan (Mudbound, Stranger Things) as an esteemed scientist who helps out DiCaprio and Lawrence's characters.

Adam McKay (of "The Big Short," "Step Brothers," and "Vice" fame) directed and wrote the dark comedy for Netflix.

"Don't Look Up" is due to open in select theaters throughout December, and will premiere on Netflix on December 24th.
