Check out an early film clip from "The French Dispatch," the highly anticipated new film from Wes Anderson.

The clip features a brief exchange between recent Oscar-winning "Nomadland" star Frances McDormand and Timothee Chalamet. McDormand plays an esteemed journalist writing about the recent protest movement while Chalamet is a young student revolutionary. He is writing down his manifesto, while naked in a bathtub. So, it's an awkward encounter between these two.

While seemingly inspired by the 1950s and '60s films of the French New Wave, "The French Dispatch" tells a series of quirky slice-of-life stories from the final issue of a fictional cultural and travel magazine about a fictional French city.

Like all Wes Anderson films, this one also features a stellar cast that includes the likes of Benicio Del Toro, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody, Owen Wilson, Jeffrey Wright, Lea Seydoux, and so on.

"The French Dispatch" just premiered at this year's Cannes Film Festival, and it's currently scheduled to open in theaters in October.
