On the night his mob-connected family is to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his father's death, a young Brooklyn man finds himself entangled in a series of criminal activities.

Check out the official trailer for the new mob drama "The Birthday Cake," in which Shiloh Fernandez (Euphoria, Evil Dead) stars as Gio, the nephew of a Brooklyn Mafia boss who, over the course of a night, gradually learns the details behind his father's mysterious death.

The film features a strong supporting cast that includes William Fichtner, Lorraine Bracco, Vincent Pastore, Luis Guzman, Paul Sorvino, Ashley Benson, Penn Badgley, Emory Cohen, Aldis Hodge, David Mazouz, with guest appearances by Val Kilmer as Gio's Mob Uncle and Ewan McGregor as a local priest.

First-time feature filmmaker Jimmy Giannopoulos directs. He also co-wrote the script with lead star Shiloh Fernandez and producer-writer Diomedes Raul Bermudez.

"The Birthday Cake" is being released in theaters and on VOD on June 18th.

synopsis:
On the 10th anniversary of his father's mysterious death, Gio (Shiloh Fernandez) brings a birthday cake prepared by his mother (Lorraine Bracco) to a memorial celebration hosted by his uncle Angelo (Val Kilmer), a Brooklyn mafia boss. Gio's life begins to change as he pieces together what really happened to his father all those years ago, coming face to face with a kind of violence he has been trying to avoid his whole life.
