Check out the official behind-the-scenes featurette for "Sweet Tooth," the new Netflix original series based on the DC/Vertigo comic book of the same name by Jeff Lemire.
In the footage, we see the cast and crew discussing how they went into translating Lemire's popular comic book into a fantasy tale of a young hopeful mutant boy looking to travel across a hostile post-apocalyptic America.
The series, which is executive produced by Susan Downey and Robert Downey Jr., is set in an alternative world where a mysterious global pandemic has resulted in a new generation of children born as part-human, part-animal hybrids.
The main protagonist is a young hybrid deer-boy named Gus (played by Christian Convery). Game of Thrones' Nonso Anozie also stars as Tommy Jepperd, a wandering loner who reluctantly befriends Gus while on the road. While Will Forte co-stars as Gus's father.
Filmmaker Jim Mickle (Cold in July, Hap and Leonard) serves as both the creator and director of the Netflix series, which also stars Adeel Akhtar, Dania Ramirez, Neil Sandilands, Stefania LaVie Owen, and Aliza Vellani.
"Sweet Tooth" premieres on June 4th on Netflix.
