The Emmy-winning Netflix series "Master of None," from Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang, is returning with its third season next month after a four-year break.

The streaming company has released the first official trailer for Season 3, titled "Moments in Love," which appears to be focusing its attention on Lena Waithe's character Denise and her girlfriend Alicia, played here by Naomi Ackie (from Small Axe, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker).

In the series, Denise is one of Dev's closest friends in New York. Dev is, of course, played by comedian Aziz Ansari. Back in 2017, Waithe and Ansari won an Emmy Award for co-writing the episode Thanksgiving, which was largely inspired by Waithe's personal experience of coming out to her family.

The new, third season, consisting of six episodes, is co-written by Waithe and Ansari. While stepping back from the show's main focus, Ansari will be directing the entire new season.

"Master of None: Moments in Love" is scheduled to premiere on May 23rd, only on Netflix.

synopsis:
The Emmy Award-winning MASTER OF NONE returns with a new season that chronicles the relationship of Denise (Emmy Award winner Lena Waithe) and her partner Alicia (BAFTA winner Naomi Ackie).

Directed by series co-creator and Emmy winner Aziz Ansari, and scripted by Ansari and Waithe, this new season is a modern love story that intimately illustrates the ups and downs of marriage, struggles with fertility, and personal growth both together and apart. Fleeting romantic highs meet crushing personal losses while existential questions of love and living are raised.

Co-created by Ansari and Emmy Award winner Alan Yang, Season 3 delivers an evolution of the series that remains tethered to previous seasons while breaking new storytelling ground of its own.
