In Victorian London, there's a group of special women gifted with various supernatural abilities. They have banded together to protect the innocent from the wicked and the insane. Welcome to the world of "The Nevers."

Check out the new official full-length trailer for the new HBO original series that is part fantasy, part steampunk, and part adrenaline-fueled costume drama.

The series stars Laura Donnelly (Outlander), Ann Skelly (Death and Nightingales), Rochelle Neil (Das Boot), Olivia Williams (Counterpart), James Norton (McMafia), Tom Riley (Da Vinci's Demons), and Ben Chaplin (The Dig) with guest appearances by Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz) and Denis O'Hare (True Blood).

"The Nevers" was created by "Avengers" director and "Buffy the Vampire" creator Joss Whedon, who also directs the pilot episode. However, Whedon has since stepped down from the project, relinquishing showrunner duties to British screenwriter Philippa Goslett whose writing credits include the films "Mary Magdalene" and "How to Talk to Girls at Parties."

"The Nevers" is being released on April 11th, exclusively on HBO and HBO Max.

synopsis:
In the last years of Victoria's reign, London is beset by the "Touched": people -- mostly women -- who suddenly manifest abnormal abilities, some charming, some very disturbing. Among them are Amalia True (Laura Donnelly), a mysterious, quick-fisted widow, and Penance Adair (Ann Skelly), a brilliant young inventor. They are the champions of this new underclass, making a home for the Touched, while fighting the forces of ... well, pretty much all the forces -- to make room for those whom history as we know it has no place.
