Netflix has released the official teaser for Part 2 of the hit French crime series "Lupin," starring French actor Omar Sy (The Intouchables) as Assane Diop, a master-of-disguise and genius thief who uses the legend of the fictional character Arsene Lupin as an inspiration to avenge the injustice done to his father years ago.
Season 2 (or rather, "Part 2") will see Assane's quest for revenge thwarted when his adversaries are able to turn the tables, putting Assane and his family in serious danger.
The French Netflix original series, which is executive produced by French action director Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me, The Incredible Hulk), is inspired by the classic French detective novels by early 20th-century writer Maurice Leblanc, which features the iconic character Arsene Lupin, an international gentleman burglar and private detective. The Lupin character is often described as the French counterpart to Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes.
In this modern version, Arsene Lupin merely serves as a source of inspiration for Omar Sy's lead character Assane Diop, who is carrying out an elaborate plan of revenge against the powerful people who have wronged his family.
Available in French and English-language dubs, "Lupin: Part 2" (which features five all-new episodes) will premiere sometime this summer, only on Netflix.
synopsis:
As a teenager, Assane Diop's life was turned upside down when his father died after being accused of a crime he didn't commit. 25 years later, Assane will use "Arsene Lupin, Gentleman Burglar" as his inspiration to avenge his father.
Assane's quest for revenge against Hubert Pellegrini has torn his family to pieces. With his back to the wall, he now has to think of a new plan, even if it means putting himself in danger.
