Check out a new 30-second commercial for "Soul," Pixar's new animated film that will stream next month exclusively on Disney Plus on Christmas.

From two-time Oscar-winning animator and current Pixar chief Pete Docter (Inside Out, Up), the animated film stars the voice of Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx as a middle-school band teacher and struggling jazz musician named Joe Gardner.

Stylistically inspired by jazz music culture, the Pixar movie finds Joe on an unearthly adventure to search for the meaning of life. When he finds himself crash-landing in the spiritual world of the "Great Before," he must rely on the help of a happy-go-lucky blue spirit named 22 (voiced by Emmy-winner Tina Fey) to get his soul back to Earth.

"Soul" is due to premiere on Disney Plus on December 25th.

synopsis:
SOUL follows Joe Gardner, a middle-school band teacher whose true passion is playing jazz. Joe is having that crisis that all artists have. He increasingly feels like his lifelong dream of being a jazz musician is not going to pan out and he's asking himself "Why am I here? What am I meant to be doing?"

Just when Joe thinks his dream might be in reach, a single unexpected step sends him to a fantastical place where he's is forced to think again about what it truly means to have soul. That's where he meets and ultimately teams up with 22, a soul who doesn't think life on Earth is all it's cracked up to be.

Jamie Foxx lends his voice to Joe, while Tina Fey voices 22.
