When a young teenage videogamer accidentally opens a secret portal, she is sucked into her favorite 16-bit video game. She now embodies the avatar of a young boy recruit who is fighting a space war alongside the galaxy's greatest hero, "Max Cloud."

Check out the official trailer for the new '80s throwback, video game-inspired action-comedy that features English-born martial arts action star Scott Adkins (Doctor Strange, The Expendables 2) as Max Cloud.

Directed by Martin Owen (Killers Anonymous, Let's Be Evil), the action film also stars Isabelle Allen (Les Miserables) and Franz Drameh (DC's Legends of Tomorrow). Meanwhile, several videogame characters are played by Tommy Flanagan (Sons of Anarchy), Lashana Lynch (No Time to Die), John Hannah (Spartacus), Elliot James Langridge (Northern Soul), and Sally Collett (Killers Anonymous) who also co-wrote the screenplay.

"Max Cloud" is being released in select theaters and on VOD and Digital beginning December 18th.

synopsis:
When teen gamer Sarah finds an "easter egg" and accidentally opens a portal into her favorite side-scroller, she becomes trapped in a notorious intergalactic prison, home to the galaxy's most dangerous villains. To escape, she must finish the game with a little help from her not-so-savvy friend on the outside...or remain a 16-bit character forever.
