Here's a new official sneak peek at the monster-apocalypse action movie that sees "Maze Runner" star Dylan O'Brien as a young crossbow-wielding survivor who comes face to face with a giant insect-like beast.
Released today, available on Premium VOD, "Love and Monsters" is set in a post-apocalyptic America where gigantic insect-like creatures have taken over the world.
O'Brien plays Joel Dawson, a teenage survivor who has decided to leave the safety of his underground bunker to look for his long-lost high school girlfriend (played by Jessica Henwick, from "Game of Thrones" and "Iron Fist"). While trekking through dangerous terrain filled with giant deadly creepy-crawlers, Joel befriends a skilled survivalist (played by Walking Dead's Michael Rooker) and a young fierce girl (Ariana Greenblatt).
Produced by "Stranger Things" director-producer Shawn Levy, "Love and Monsters" is directed by South African filmmaker Michael Matthews (Five Fingers for Marseilles), working from a screenplay by Brian Duffield (Underwater, Insurgent) and Matthew Robinson (Monster Trucks, The Invention of Lying).
synopsis:
Seven years after the Monsterpocalypse, Joel Dawson (Dylan O'Brien), along with the rest of humanity, has been living underground ever since giant creatures took control of the land. After reconnecting over radio with his high school girlfriend Aimee (Jessica Henwick), who is now 80 miles away at a coastal colony, Joel begins to fall for her again. As Joel realizes that there's nothing left for him underground, he decides against all logic to venture out to Aimee, despite all the dangerous monsters that stand in his way. The fun-filled and action-packed adventure also stars Michael Rooker and Ariana Greenblatt.
