HBO has released the official full-length trailer for Season 2 of the small screen adaptation of Philip Pullman's celebrated fantasy novel series "His Dark Materials."

The HBO series, starring Dafne Keen (Logan), Amir Wilson (The Letter for the King), Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton), Ruth Wilson (The Affair), and Andrew Scott (Fleabag), takes place in a multi-universe reality where an English orphan girl named Lyra Belacqua (Keen) embarks on an epic magical adventure to rescue kidnapped children while also uncovering a sinister conspiracy that involves a mysterious particle called Dust.

In Season 2, Lyra (Keen) finds herself teaming up with a boy named Will Parry (played by Amir Wilson) as they are being chased down by the evil power-seeking explorer, Marisa Coulter (Ruth Wilson). Lin-Manuel Miranda co-stars as the swashbuckling aeronaut, Lee Scoresby, while Andrew Scott is explorer Colonel John Parry.

Ariyon Bakare (Good Omens) and Ruta Gedmintas (The Strain) also co-stars in the series, which is executive produced by producer Jane Tranter (Succession, A Discovery of Witches) and writer Jack Thorne (Enola Holmes, Wonder).

"His Dark Materials: Season 2" is due to premiere on November 16th on HBO and HBO MAX.

Adapting Philip Pullman's award-winning trilogy of the same name, which is considered a modern masterpiece of imaginative fiction, the first season follows Lyra, a seemingly ordinary but brave young woman from another world. Her search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children and becomes a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust. As she journeys through the worlds, including our own, Lyra meets Will, a determined and courageous boy. Together, they encounter extraordinary beings and dangerous secrets, with the fate of both the living  --  and the dead  --  in their hands.
