Check out the official teaser trailer for Season 3 of Starz's cult fantasy series "American Gods," which is set in a contemporary world where ancient mythological gods are secretly waging a war against new modern-day deities.
Starring Ricky Whittle and Ian McShane with a large supporting cast that includes Emily Browning, Crispin Glover, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Omid Abtahi, with Danny Trejo and Iwan Rheon, the series is based on Neil Gaiman's international best-seller of the same name, which centers on the complex relationship between an enigmatic deity named Mr. Wednesday (McShane) and his former manservant, Shadow Moon (Whittle).
Created and developed by Michael Green and Bryan Fuller, both of whom have left the series and is now executive produced by new showrunner Charles H. Eglee (The Shield, Dexter), "American Gods: Season 3" will premiere sometime in 2021 on Starz. Watch the sneak-peek Season 3 teaser, above.
synopsis:
When Shadow Moon is released from prison, he meets the mysterious Mr. Wednesday and a storm begins to brew. Little does Shadow know, this storm will change the course of his entire life. Left adrift by the recent, tragic death of his wife, and suddenly hired as Mr. Wednesday's bodyguard, Shadow finds himself in the center of a world that he struggles to understand. It's a world where magic is real, where the Old Gods fear both irrelevance and the growing power of the New Gods, like Technology and Media. Mr. Wednesday seeks to build a coalition of Old Gods to defend their existence in this new America, and reclaim some of the influence that they’ve lost. As Shadow travels across the country with Mr. Wednesday, he struggles to accept this new reality, and his place in it.
