The official trailer has been released for "Synchronic," the new mind-bending science-fiction-tinged thriller from acclaimed filmmakers Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, of "The Endless" and "Spring."

In the film, MCU star Anthony Mackie and "Fifty Shades" star Jamie Dornan play a pair of paramedics whose lives are upended when they discover a mysterious designer drug has been linked to a recent string of emergency calls in New Orleans. The drug is also linked to the strange and unexpected disappearance of Jamie Dornan's character's teenage daughter.

In order to conduct an off-the-books investigation, Anthony Mackie's character has taken it upon himself to test out the illegal psychedelic drug on himself. Once consumed, he realizes the drug effects are immediately blurring the lines between reality and dreams -- and that "time is an illusion."

Co-starring Ally IIoannides, Katie Aselton, and Bill Oberst Jr, "Synchronic" is being released on October 23rd. Watch the trailer, above.

When New Orleans paramedics and longtime best friends Steve (Anthony Mackie) and Dennis (Jamie Dornan) are called to a series of bizarre, gruesome accidents, they chalk it up to the mysterious new party drug found at the scene. But after Dennis's oldest daughter suddenly disappears, Steve stumbles upon a terrifying truth about the supposed psychedelic that will challenge everything he knows about reality -- and the flow of time itself.
