"Maze Runner" star Dylan O'Brien is trying to survive the Monsterpocalypse in the official trailer for the new offbeat post-apocalyptic fantasy thriller "Love and Monsters."
Produced by "Stranger Things" director-producer Shawn Levy, the fantasy-adventure film sees O'Brien as Joel Dawson, a young survivor of a post-apocalyptic event in which gigantic insect-like creatures have taken over the world.
When Joel unexpectedly hears the voice of his long-lost high school girlfriend (played by Jessica Henwick, from "Game of Thrones" and "Iron Fist") over his radio transmitter, he decides to leave the safety of his underground bunker to look for her. Now he must travel across miles of a nightmarish landscape, which is quite literally crawling with giant deadly creepy-crawlers.
Co-starring The Walking Dead's Michael Rooker, "Love and Monsters" is directed by South African filmmaker Michael Matthews, who previously directed the acclaimed South African western thriller "Five Fingers for Marseilles."

synopsis:
Seven years after the Monsterpocalypse, Joel Dawson (Dylan O'Brien), along with the rest of humanity, has been living underground ever since giant creatures took control of the land. After reconnecting over radio with his high school girlfriend Aimee (Jessica Henwick), who is now 80 miles away at a coastal colony, Joel begins to fall for her again. As Joel realizes that there's nothing left for him underground, he decides against all logic to venture out to Aimee, despite all the dangerous monsters that stand in his way. The fun-filled and action-packed adventure also stars Michael Rooker and Ariana Greenblatt.
